Notice of Adopted Changes to the Regulations of the Board of Massage Therapists

On March 15, 2021, the Board of Massage Therapists adopted regulation changes in Title 12, Chapter 79 of the Alaska Administrative Code. The regulations concern licensure of massage therapists, continuing education required of massage therapists, and--to provide additional clarification for massage therapy establishments regulated under AS 08.61.020(2), as amended under sec. 2, ch. 10, SLA 2018--requirements for biennial renewal of registration, the change of an establishment’s location, and the payment of fees for the investigation of an unregistered establishment.

The regulation changes were reviewed and approved by the Department of Law, signed and filed by the Lieutenant Governor (or designee) on May 7, 2021, and will go into effect on June 6, 2021. See attached copy of the filed version of the regulations.

The new regulation changes will be printed in Register 238, July 2021 of the Alaska Administrative Code.
