Subject to AS 38.05.850, the Northern Regional Land Office has received an application for the following:

APPLICANT: United Utilities, Inc.

PROJECT NAME: ADL 421598

GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION: About 3 miles northwest of Manley Hot Springs.

LEGAL DESCRIPTION: Within Section 36, Township 3 North, Range 16 West, Fairbanks Meridian.

REQUESTED ACTIVITY: The Department of Natural Resources, Division of Mining, Land, and Water (DMLW), Northern Regional Office has received an application from United Utilities Inc. for a public utility easement. The applicant has requested an easement 30 feet wide and 408 feet long. The applicant anticipates using the easement for telephone and power lines to a communications lease site (ADL 414450) and for utility access to same. Use was previously authorized under ADL 414449 via a private non-exclusive easement.

REQUESTED TERM: 15 years, “with an option to terminate at the same time as ADL 414450.” DNR may choose to issue the easement in perpetuity or until no longer needed.

DEADLINE FOR COMMENTS: March 29, 2021.

The public is invited to comment on this activity. The purpose of this notice is to gather input before a decision is made on this activity. To ensure consideration, written comments must be received by the Division of Mining, Land and Water at 3700 Airport Way, Fairbanks, AK  99709 on or before 5:00 p.m. on the date noted above. After review and adjudication, we may issue an authorization with stipulations for the activity. The activity may be modified during the review and adjudication process.
