PROPOSED FINAL PERMIT
TO DISCHARGE TO WATERS OF THE UNITED STATES

Following the close of a 30-day public notice period, ADEC has prepared an APDES proposed final permit for the City of Valdez Wastewater Treatment Facility. Prior to making the final decision to issue the general permit, ADEC invites you to view the proposed final permit and associated documents. Proposed Permit Coverage:

The City of Valdez operates a wastewater treatment plant that treats domestic wastewater from residential and commercial sources to secondary treatment standards. The discharge of secondary treated domestic wastewater from the City of Valdez Wastewater Treatment Facility located at 61° 6’ 58.91” North latitude and 146° 16’ 50.66” West longitude will occur at an average daily flow rate of 1.02 million gallons per day to Port Valdez. A mixing zone for total ammonia, dissolved oxygen, fecal coliform and enterococci bacteria, temperature, total residual chlorine, total recoverable copper, and Whole Effluent Toxicity will be authorized.

Determination:

The ADEC has determined to reissue the above listed permit.
