Notice of Utility Application

The REGULATORY COMMISSION OF ALASKA (Commission) gives notice that on December 31, 2020, Ounalashka/Chena Power, LLC (Ounalashka/Chena) filed an application for a new Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity. Ounalashka/Chena proposes to construct a power generation and transmission project so it can provide wholesale electric service to the City of Unalaska’s electric utility. Docket No. U-20-083 was opened to address this matter. 

In conjunction with the application, Ounalashka/Chena has filed a petition for confidential treatment of the following information required by the application: historical financial information, pro forma financial schedules 1 through 7 and sources of financing. Ounalashka/Chena has also filed a petition for expedited consideration of its application and seeks a decision from the Commission as soon as possible so it may continue its application for a loan with the US Department of Agriculture.

The Commission has not assessed the completeness of the application or ruled on the petition for confidentiality. The Commission will rule on the petition for confidentiality and determine whether the application is complete by March 1, 2021.
