Subject to AS 38.05.850, the Northern Regional Land Office has received an application for the following:

APPLICANT: ALASKA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION & PUBLIC FACILITIES

PROJECT NAME: ADL 421453

GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION: Within the Chena River approximately 200 feet east of the University Avenue Bridge; and within the adjacent Chena River State Recreation Site in Fairbanks.

LEGAL DESCRIPTION: Within Section 8, Township 1 South, Range 1 West, Fairbanks Meridian, containing 17,573 square feet, more or less, as shown as Parcels E-55A and E113 on Attachment A.

REQUESTED ACTIVITY: The Department of Natural Resources, Division of Mining, Land, and Water (DMLW), Northern Regional Office has received an application from ADOT for a public utility easement in connection with the University Avenue Rehabilitation and Widening project. The project generally proposes to widen and reconstruct both University Avenue and the University Avenue bridge over the Chena River. The immediate purpose is for use of the easement for a buried main waterline.

REQUESTED TERM: Indefinite.

DEADLINE FOR COMMENTS: July 6, 2020.

The public is invited to comment on this activity. The purpose of this notice is to gather input before a decision is made on this activity. To ensure consideration, written comments must be received by the Division of Mining, Land and Water at 3700 Airport Way, Fairbanks, AK  99709 on or before 5:00 p.m. on the date noted above. After review and adjudication, we may issue an authorization with stipulations for the activity. The activity may be modified during the review and adjudication process.
