Sealed bids, in single copy for the Utilities Cooling and Heating Loop Piping Upgrade project will be received by the University of Alaska, until Thursday, 2:00 p.m., March 12, 2020, at the office of Division of Design and Construction, University of Alaska, 1850 Tanana Loop, Lola Tilly Building, UAF Campus, Fairbanks, Alaska, at which time bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.

The Work consists of installation of approximately 150 ft. of buried 14 in. HDPE chilled water piping south of Rasmuson Library and replacement of 100 ft. of damaged buried chilled water piping west of the Bunnell building,  piping re-work in the Rasmuson Library basement to make the connection to the existing system, restoration of the surface features disturbed by the work, and the demolition and installation of the concrete plaza and surface features between Signers’ Hall parking lot and the Rasmuson Library and the parking lot west side of the Bunnell building.

Bidders are advised that the University of Alaska has a procedure for accepting alternate products or systems prior to bid opening.  Acceptance of substitutions after award is limited.  See Instructions to Bidders and the General Conditions.

Bidders must register through the website to be notified of addenda.  The bidder is responsible for periodically checking the site for addenda or additional information for the project.

Printed copies may be ordered by contacting a reprographer directly.  Plan holders are responsible for their own reproduction costs.

A pre-bid conference will be held on Monday, March 2, 2020, at 10:00 a.m. at the office of Division of Design and Construction, University of Alaska, 1850 Tanana Loop, Lola Tilly Building, UAF Campus, Fairbanks, Alaska.

Bid security is required to be submitted with each bid in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. State law requires a bid to be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible "Alaska Bidder" after a five percent (5%) preference and Alaska Products Preference have been applied.  Further instructions are contained within the Invitation for Bids.

The University of Alaska reserves the right to reject any or all bids, offers, or parts thereof it deems necessary, to waive any informality in the bid or offer received, and to award in the best interest of the University.
