GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION: The Pogo Mine Road is located in the Shaw Creek drainage and upper Goodpaster River drainage. Pogo Road begins at the end of the Shaw Creek Road, approximately at 64.3098 N and 146.1333 W, and is accessed via the Richardson Highway near milepost 286.5.

REQUESTED ACTIVITY: The Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Division of Mining, Land, and Water (DMLW), Northern Regional Lands Office (NRO) has received a renewal application from Jack Windsor for the permit under LAS 28759. The permit authorized 3rd party use of the Pogo Mine Road by Jack Windsor, Judy Windsor, and Andrew Dougherty to maintain trapping cabins and traplines under ADLs 416594 and 416595. This five year permit was originally authorized on 7/22/2013 for 10 round trips per year by those listed on the trapping cabin permits only and only for the purpose of cabin and trail maintenance. There are no known issues regarding this activity during the previous authorized term. In this most recent application, Mr. Dougherty has requested up to 6 personnel, however, this will not be authorized as only 3 individuals (Jack and Judy Windsor and Andrew Dougherty) are listed in the referenced trapping cabin permits. Requested use of the road is via four wheel drive pickups to MP 32, as well as ATVs and snow machines when traveling off of the road.

The public is invited to comment on this activity. The purpose of this notice is to gather input before a decision is made on this activity.
