Hansen Oil Pool, Cosmopolitan Unit
Public Hearing for Pool Rules
On June 7, 2019, the AOGCC received from BlueCrest Alaska Operating LLC (BlueCrest) 25 spacing exception requests regarding the Hansen H10 well and its fishbone lateral branches. If granted, the current request will result in 63 spacing exceptions having been issued to BlueCrest for the Hansen wells. Because BlueCrest has never sought pool rules for the oil pool within the Cosmopolitan Unit, informally referred to by Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission (AOGCC) and BlueCrest as the Hansen Undefined Oil Pool, the AOGCC will hold a public hearing to establish pool rules for development and operation of that oil pool.
The AOGCC has scheduled a public hearing for August 13, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. at 333 West 7th Avenue, Anchorage, Alaska 99501. At the hearing, BlueCrest should be prepared to present evidence on all relevant aspects of creation and operation of the oil pool, including, but not limited to the definition, boundaries and geology of the pool, reservoir and fluid properties, well spacing rules, any other requested rules, or any variances from AOGCC’s applicable regulations.
Written comments regarding this application may be submitted to the AOGCC, at 333 West 7th Avenue, Anchorage, Alaska 99501. Comments must be received no later than the conclusion of the August 13, 2019 hearing.
