NOTICE OF FLOOD HAZARDS MAP REVISION

Juneau Mendenhall Loop Improvements Project Z-67622-0000

The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (ADOT&PF) in accordance with National Flood Insurance Program regulation 65.7(b)(1), hereby gives notice of the Department’s intent to revise the flood hazard information, generally located between Steven Richards and McGinnis Drive along Duck Creek. The flood hazard revisions are being proposed as part of Conditional Letter of Map Revision (CLOMR) for a proposed project along Duck Creek.

The ADOT&PF is proposing to increase the length of the culvert conveying Duck Creek past Stephen Richards Memorial Drive (SRMD) as part of a proposed project to create a round-about at the intersection of SRMD and Mendenhall Loop Road.

Once the project has been completed, a Letter of Map Revision (LOMR) request should be submitted that will, in part, revise the following flood hazards along Duck Creek.

   1. The floodway will be revised from SRMD to McGinnis Drive.
   2. A floodway will be established from SRMD to McGinnis Drive along Duck Creek.
   3. Base Flood Elevations will increase along Duck Creek.
   4. The Special Flood Hazard Area will decrease along Duck Creek.
