Sealed bids, in single copy for the Cutler Fire Alarm Replacement project will be received by the University of Alaska, until 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 5, 2019, at the office of Division of Design and Construction, University of Alaska, 1850 Tanana Loop, Lola Tilly Building, UAF Campus, Fairbanks, Alaska, at which time bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.
The Work consists of design and installation of an electrically operated and supervised digital fire alarm system in all of the apartments in the Cutler Apartment Complex. The Work includes installation of all required conductors, boxes and raceway required for the installation of the fire alarm system. Upon acceptance of the complete and functioning system by the UAF Fire Marshal, the existing fire alarm system is to be removed for salvage.
Bidders are advised that the University of Alaska has a procedure for accepting alternate products or systems prior to bid opening. Acceptance of substitutions after award is limited. See Instructions to Bidders and the General Conditions.

Bidders must register through the website to be notified of addenda. The bidder is responsible for periodically checking the site for addenda or additional information for the project.
Printed copies may be ordered by contacting a reprographer directly. Plan holders are responsible for their own reproduction costs.
A pre-bid conference will be held on February 19, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. at the office of Division of Design and Construction, University of Alaska, 1850 Tanana Loop, Lola Tilly Building, UAF Campus, Fairbanks, Alaska.
Bid security is required to be submitted with each bid in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. State law requires a bid to be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible "Alaska Bidder" after a five percent (5%) preference and Alaska Products Preference have been applied. Further instructions are contained within the Invitation for Bids.
The University of Alaska reserves the right to reject any or all bids, offers, or parts thereof it deems necessary, to waive any informality in the bid or offer received, and to award in the best interest of the University.
