The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) has assumed the responsibilities of the Federal Highway Administration under 23 U.S.C. 327 and is soliciting comments and information on a proposal to resurface A Street from Northern Lights Boulevard to 40th Avenue in Anchorage, Alaska. The proposed work would include:
Milling and paving
Upgrades to curb ramps to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements
Improvements to drainage facilities which may include trenching to replace existing structures, signal systems, intersections, and lighting
Utilities upgrades and relocations
Replacing signage, guardrail, and striping
This proposed project will comply with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act; Executive Orders: 11990 (Wetlands Protection), 11988 (Floodplain Protection), 12898 (Environmental Justice), the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, Fish and Wildlife Coordination Act, and U.S. DOT Act Section 4(f).
Construction for the proposed project is anticipated to begin in summer 2020. To ensure that all possible factors are considered, please provide written comments to the following address by December 31, 2018.
