Notice of Proposal to Issue an Air Quality Control Operating Permit for Westward Seafoods, Inc., Westward Dutch Harbor Seafood Processing Facility

WESTWARD SEAFOODS, INC.
WESTWARD DUTCH HARBOR SEAFOOD PROCESSING FACILITY

The Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation (ADEC) has made a preliminary decision to approve Westward Seafoods, Inc.’s (WSI’s) application for Air Quality Control Operating Permit AQ0433TVP03 Rev. 1 for the Westward Dutch Harbor Seafood Processing Facility, under Alaska Statues 46.14 and regulation 18 AAAC 50. 

Applicant:      WSI, 3015 112th Ave. NE, Suite 100, Bellevue, WA 98004

Location:       Mile 1 Captains Bay Road, Unalaska, AK 99692

Activity:         WSI requested a significant modification to their Title V Operating Permit AQ0433TVP03 in order to revise the terms and conditions of their compliance assurance monitoring (CAM) Plan for emissions units 1 through 3.

Emissions:     The revision to the operating permit does not change the stationary source’s potential to emit. The stationary source’s total assessable potential emissions per year are 830 tons.

ADEC Preliminary Review: Based on review of the application, ADEC drafted a preliminary permit decision under AS 46.14 and 18 AAC 50.

Opportunity for Public Participation: Any interested person may present written statements relevant to the draft documents, as long as they are received within the timeframe listed below. ADEC will consider all comments received and make any changes ADEC finds beneficial or necessary to assure compliance with 18 AAC 50 or State Law. ADEC will issue a final decision to issue or deny the permit after the close of the public comment period. Any person may request a public hearing and that hearing will be held if ADEC finds that good cause exists. ADEC complies with Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990.
