Igiugig Village Council

Subject to AS 38.05.850, the Southcentral Regional Land Office has received an application for the following:

APPLICANT: Igiugig Village Council

PROJECT NAME: LAS 32507

GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION: Kvichak River, west of Igiugig, approximately 1.25 miles from Iliamna Lake.

LEGAL DESCRIPTION: Section 7, Township 10 South, Range 39 West, Seward Meridian

REQUESTED ACTIVITY: Applicant is requesting to temporarily install up to two hydrokinetic power devices with an anchoring system and distribution lines in the Kvichak River with proposed heavy equipment use for installation purposes. The temporary submerged and terrestrial distribution lines will be connected to the devices placed below the ordinary high water mark to the adjacent uplands. The requested project is proposing to use approximately three acres of state shorelands.

Start: September 1, 2018
End: July 31, 2023

The public is invited to comment on this activity. The purpose of this notice is to gather input before a decision is made on this activity.  To ensure consideration, written comments must be received by the Division of Mining, Land and Water at the Southcentral Regional Land Office, 550 W. 7th Ave., Suite 900C, Anchorage, AK 99501-3577 on or before 5:00 PM on the date noted above. After review and adjudication, we may issue an authorization with stipulations for the activity.  The activity may be modified during the review and adjudication process.
