BRIEF DESCRIPTION: The Department of Law proposes changes to regulations dealing with the registration of charitable organizations and paid solicitors. The Department of Law (Department) proposes the following changes to regulations in Title 9 of the Alaska Administrative Code, dealing with the registration of charitable organizations and paid solicitors:
9 AAC 12.890. Electronic filing and signatures will be changed to require that charitable organizations and paid solicitors submit filings required under AS 45.68 or 9 AAC 12 electronically. The regulation clarifies that the department may waive the electronic filing requirement in certain circumstances.
You may comment on the proposed regulation changes, including the potential costs to private persons of complying with the proposed changes, by submitting written comments to Jonathan Clement, Assistant Attorney General, Department of Law, 1031 West 4th Avenue, Suite 200, Anchorage, AK 99501. Additionally, the Department will accept comments by facsimile at (907) 276-3697 and by electronic mail at jonathan.clement@alaska.gov. Comments may also be submitted through the Alaska Online Public Notice System, by accessing this notice on the system and using the "comment" link. The comments must be received no later than 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 23, 2018.

The questions must be received at least 10 days before the end of the public comment period. The Department will aggregate its response to substantially similar questions and make the questions and response available on the Department’s website
