NOTICE OF PIPELINE APPLICATION
The REGULATORY COMMISSION OF ALASKA (Commission) gives notice that Cook Inlet Pipeline Company (CIPL) filed an application on June 5, 2018, seeking approval to permanently discontinue use of and abandon certain of its pipeline infrastructure on the west side of Cook Inlet south of Trading Bay Junction, including the Drift River Terminal and Tank Farm, the Christy Lee Platform, and that portion of pipeline designated the Drift River Segment. Docket No. P-18-009 was opened to address this matter.
The proposed transaction is part of CIPL’s greater “Reconfiguration Plan” to extend and modify its existing oil transportation system to provide an undersea pipeline path from the west side of Cook Inlet to the east side of Cook Inlet.
In conjunction with its application, CIPL filed a petition for confidential treatment of the May 24, 2018, Decommissioning Study that is designated as Exhibit B to the application. Any interested person wishing to file a response to the petition for confidential treatment must do so by 5:00 p.m., July 3, 2018.
The Commission has not assessed the completeness of the application or ruled on the petition for confidential treatment. The Commission will rule on the petition for confidential treatment and determine whether the application is complete by August 2, 2018.
