Public Notice: Preliminary Decision

Subject to AS 38.05.083 the Southcentral Regional Office (SCRO) has made a Preliminary Decision (PD) to amend aquatic farm lease ADL 227591 held by leaseholder Early Tide Seafarms, LLC.
Early Tide Seafarms, LLC has requested an amendment to their 10-year aquatic farm lease to increase the size of Parcel 1 for the suspended culture of Pacific oysters, Magallana gigas. The increased size of the parcel would provide for an additional 4.52 acres to expand the oyster growing operation, including an increase in size of an existing work raft and adding a new work raft. The applicant’s 10-year lease has an expiration date of November 30, 2021 and authorizes the grow-out of Pacific oysters on Parcel 1 within 1.47 acres of state tidelands. The proposed amendment if approved would authorize the use of a total of 5.99 acres of state tidelands.
The proposed amendment to the leasehold is located southeast of the entrance of Bear Cove, along the shoreline and approximately 1/2 mile east of Bear Island, about 16.7 nautical miles northeast of Homer, Alaska, within Section 19, Township 5 South, Range 10 West, Seward Meridian.
