The Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation (ADEC), Air Monitoring and Quality Assurance Division is making the PM2.5 Exceptional Events Waiver Request for events measured during the 2015 wildfire season, at the Fairbanks North Star Borough Air Monitoring Stations available for public review. The Exceptional Events Waiver Request documents the exceptional character of this wildfire event which caused elevated concentrations of fine particulate matter measured at multiple air monitoring sites in the Fairbanks North Star Borough during the summer of 2015. The document is available at http://dec.alaska.gov/air/air-monitoring/exceptional-events and is submitted to fulfill the EPA requirement for treatment of data influenced by Exceptional Events under 40 CFR 50 and 51. The waiver request will be available for public comment for 30 days. The deadline for comments is 5 PM Alaska time, February 12, 2018.
