The first 7.5 miles of the Dalton Highway will be completely relocated from its current alignment in mountainous terrain, to flatter more suitable terrain in the valley of the West Fork Tolvana River and Lost Creek (see attachment A). The relocating the highway to the valley floor will correct the substandard steep grades and sharp curves that currently exist. The highway reconstruction is scheduled for 2019, pending project funding. Access to the proposed public easements will be through the Elliott Highway and Dalton Highway.
