In accordance with federal requirements, the Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation (ADEC) has prepared the Alaska Clean Water and the Alaska Drinking Water Amended Intended Use Plans for Fiscal Year 2018.  The Amended Intended Use Plans set out the Department’s strategy to loan funds made available under the Clean Water Act and the Safe Drinking Water Act for the purpose of planning, designing and constructing sanitation and drinking water facilities.    

Electronic copies of these documents are available for viewing and downloading on ADEC’s website at http://www.dec.alaska.gov/water/muniloan/intended_use_plans.htm. A printed copy may be requested by calling Peggy Ulman at (907) 334-2681.

Public review and comments are invited.  Written comments will be accepted via email or through regular mail through December 10, 2017 and will be considered in developing the final documents.  Upon adoption by the Department, the Intended Use Plans will become official policy of the Department and will serve to determine the award of loans for drinking water and water pollution control projects during Fiscal Year 2018.
