On June 13, 2017, the Board of Marine Pilots adopted regulation changes in Title 12, Chapter 56 of the Alaska Administrative Code. The regulations update regional requirements for a deputy marine pilot license, particularly the optional use of a board-approved ice simulator training course as a substitute for part of the training in docking and undocking in ice conditions for Nikiski, and also to update the list of marine pilot stations and pickup points.
The regulation changes were reviewed and approved by the Department of Law, signed and filed by the Lieutenant Governor on August 30, 2017, and will go into effect on September 29, 2017. See attached copy of the filed version of the regulations.
The new regulation changes will be printed in Register 223, October 2017 of the Alaska Administrative Code.
