Please join us for the
Angoon Airport Project
Public Open House
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) issued the Final Angoon Airport Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) and a Record of Decision (ROD) in 2016 for the proposed land-based airport with preferred alternative: Alternative 12a with access to 12a. Initial field investigations conducted since then yielded enough data for DOT&PF to begin the project’s design phase. These early investigations indicate the potential need for refining the airport layout plan. Additional geotechnical analysis, as well as public and stakeholder input are necessary for the design to move forward.
Project team members will be present to explain the project status, outline the next steps and answer questions. Your attendance is encouraged in order to meet the project team and provide them comments on potential design elements. This will be the first of several open houses to be conducted during the design process.
