PUBLIC NOTICE

REGARDING DISPOSAL OF AN INTEREST IN MUNICIPAL TRUST LAND IN
CHIGNIK LAKE, ALASKA BY THE MUNICIPAL LAND TRUSTEE

In accordance with A.S. 44.33.755 and 3 AAC 190.420 - .440 the Municipal Land Trust Officer, acting on behalf of the Commissioner of the Department of Commerce, Community, and Economic Development, is considering the issuance of a lease of the following described parcel of Municipal Trust land to the State of Alaska, Department of Transportation and Public Facilities for the site of the airport:

The surface estate of that certain real property in the vicinity of the Native Village of Chignik Lake located within Sections 26 and 27 of Township 45 South, Range 61 West, Seward Meridian, Alaska, more particularly described as Tract A of the Chignik Lake ANCSA 14(c) survey plat recorded in the Aleutian Islands Recording District as plat 96-25 on November 14, 1996, containing 93.01 acres more or less.

The Chignik Lake Traditional Council, the recognized appropriate village entity for the village of Chignik Lake, adopted a resolution approving the lease on June 28, 2017.  

The public is invited to comment on the proposed lease.  Please submit comments to

Following the comment deadline, all responses will be reviewed and the Commissioner’s decision on this matter may be modified as a result of information received.
