Notice of Intent
NR Deep Culverts Stage IV-Richardson Highway MP 30-33

The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) is proposing the Northern Region (NR) Deep Culverts Stage IV-Richardson Highway MP 30-33 project.  The project will replace culverts located between MP 30-33.  Additional work includes:

• Replacing the surface of the highway
• Replacing culverts
• Upgrading existing approaches
• Embankment repairs
• Striping
• Reinstall rumble strips

The following material sites will be made available to the contractor:

• 71-1-037-5

• 71-1-035-5

• 71-1-036-5

• 71-1-009-5

• The project is needed to improve failing drainage by replacing deeply placed culverts along the Richardson Highway MP 30-33. The purpose of this project is to extend the service life of the facility and improve safety.

  The Department requests information and comments on resources in the project area that may be affected including historic properties, archaeological sites, wetlands, and floodplains.  The following executive orders apply.
