In accordance with federal requirements, the Department of Environmental Conservation has prepared the Alaska Clean Water and the Alaska Drinking Water Intended Use Plans for Fiscal Year 2018. The Intended Use Plans set out the Department’s strategy to loan funds made available under the Clean Water Act and the Safe Drinking Water Act for the purpose of planning, designing and constructing sanitation and drinking water facilities.

Public review and comments on the draft plans are invited. Written comments will be accepted through June 5, 2017 and will be considered in developing the final documents. Comments should be sent to Carrie Bohan at the Juneau address given above, or by email at carrie.bohan@alaska.gov. Upon adoption by the Department, the Intended Use Plans will become official policy of the Department and will serve to determine the award of loans for drinking water and water pollution control projects during Fiscal Year 2018.
