Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) proposes federally funded projects that would make improvements to the Revilla and Gravina Island Shuttle Ferry facilities.
The public is invited to an open house and design workshop on May 25th on the proposed Revilla Airport Shuttle ferry facility improvements.
The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) in cooperation with the Ketchikan Gateway Borough (KGB) intends to construct new ferry berths at both the Revilla and Gravina Airport Shuttle Ferry Facilities, and construct associated upland improvements to enhance the reliability, function, and comfort of vehicle and pedestrian traffic to and from the Ketchikan Airport.
This public meeting is intended to inform the public of the projects and meet with local residents and stakeholders to seek comments and design input associated primarily with the Revilla side upland improvements. The Revilla Uplands project is expected to include parking expansion, improvement of the vehicle and pedestrian access ways, improvements to Tongass Highway and the provision of a new passenger waiting building.
DOT&PF representatives and their consultant teams, MRV Architects and CH2M Hill, will be on hand to present an overview of the projects and facilitate a public workshop to explore and develop concepts for further design efforts. The workshop will allow residents to actively participate and convey ideas to the project team. These projects are funded by FHWA
