On February 8, 2017, the State Board of Registration for Architects, Engineers, and Land Surveyors adopted regulation changes in Title 12, Chapter 36 of the Alaska Administrative Code. The regulations update requirements regarding architect, engineer, and land surveyor education, examination, and registration requirements and engineer registration by comity, and repeal requirements that merely duplicated what the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) already requires to allow applicants to sit for the fundamentals of engineering examination or fundamentals of land surveying examination.
The regulation changes were reviewed and approved by the Department of Law, signed and filed by the Lieutenant Governor on April 25, 2017, and will go into effect on May 25, 2017. See attached copy of the filed version of the regulations.
The new regulation changes will be printed in Register 222, July 2017 of the Alaska Administrative Code.
