Public Comment Invited on Medicaid Redesign Draft Medicaid Quality and Cost Effectiveness Measures

Public comment is invited on draft Quality and Cost Effectiveness indicators intended to measure improvement of the state Medicaid program.  Since October the Department of Health & Social Services has been working with a diverse group of external stakeholders including health care professionals, tribal organizations and consumers to develop quality and cost effectiveness measures.  

These measures will provide an annual snapshot of program performance in several identified categories including access and cost.  As part of the department’s overall Medicaid Redesign efforts, program performance on each of the measures will be released each year beginning this fall.  Once the measures are established, annual targets will be set to promote growth toward higher levels of program quality, performance and cost effectiveness.  

The draft measures developed by the stakeholder workgroup are attached.  Those interested in providing comment may do so in one of two ways:
