PUBLIC NOTICE

MEETING OF CANTWELL RESIDENTS CONCERNING
MUNICIPAL TRUST LAND

Notice is hereby given by the Department of Commerce, Community, and Economic Development (Commerce), pursuant to AS 44.33.755 and 3 AAC 190.210-290, that a village meeting of Cantwell residents will be convened at 6:00 p.m., March 27, 2017 at the Cantwell Community Hall for the following purposes:

1. General discussion of ANCSA Section 14(c)(3) and the Municipal Lands Trustee Program.

2.  Discuss and obtain the views of the residents of Cantwell concerning a proposal for the conveyance of certain land
     by Ahtna, Inc. to the State of Alaska to hold in trust for a future city in Cantwell.  The proposal is in complete              satisfaction of the requirements of section 14(c)(3) of ANCSA.

3. A village meeting resolution concerning the proposal will be voted on by the residents of Cantwell.

The meeting will be open to the public. Bona fide residents of the unincorporated village of Cantwell in attendance may vote on any village meeting resolution affecting the above matter. A bona fide resident is a person over the age of 18 years (or who is the head of a household if less than 18 years) who resides in Cantwell within the meaning of AS 15.05.020.

In the event the meeting cannot be convened by the undersigned or his designee at the time stated, the meeting time will be postponed on an hour to hour basis that same day, and if necessary, the following day between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. or as may be otherwise stated in a publicly posted notice in response to telephoned instructions from the undersigned.
