ADEC has prepared an APDES preliminary draft general permit for Common Collector Outfalls Discharging Secondary Treated Domestic Wastewater to Marine Water in Southeast Alaska. Prior to the formal public notice period, ADEC invites you to review the preliminary draft general permit, fact sheet, and associated documents. Proposed Permit Coverage:
Subject to the restrictions and conditions, this general permit proposes to provide coverage for common collector systems that serve two or more individual treatment plants located on separate tax lots or parcels and discharge less than or equal to 25,000 gallons per day of secondary treated domestic wastewater to marine waters in Southeast Alaska.
Applicants may request 1) a standard mixing zone for fecal coliform bacteria, defined as the area within a 100 foot radius circle, 2) a site-specific mixing zone of non-standard size and/or for other parameters, or
3) no mixing zone.
