Notice of Proposal to Issue Air Quality Control Minor Permit to Cook Inlet Energy, LLC, Sabre Offshore Drill Rig Project

The Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation (ADEC) has made a preliminary decision to approve Cook Inlet Energy, LLC’s application for Air Quality Control Minor Permit AQ1488MSS01 for the Sabre Offshore Drill Rig Project.

Applicant:      Cook Inlet Energy, LLC, 601 West 5th Avenue, Suite 310, Anchorage Alaska, 99501

Location:        Latitude: 60.8208 N; Logitude: 151.6902 W

Activity:          Cook Inlet Energy, LLC’s application is classified under 18 AAC 50.502(c)(2)(A) for construction of a portable oil and gas operation and 18 AAC 50.508(5) to avoid PSD and Title V permit classification.

Emissions:      9 tpy NOx, 41 tpy CO, 75 tpy VOC, 3 tpy PM, and 22 tpy SO2

ADEC Preliminary Review: Based on review of the application, ADEC drafted a preliminary permit decision for this project under AS 46.14 and 18 AAC 50.

Opportunity for Public Participation:

Notice is also given that any interested person may present written statements relevant to the draft documents within 30 days after the first publication date. ADEC will consider all comments received and make any changes ADEC finds beneficial or necessary to assure compliance with 18 AAC 50 or State Law. ADEC will issue a final decision to issue or deny the permit after the close of the public comment period.
