PROJECT NAME:
LAS 31532 Gate Valve #58 delineation of contamination and cleanup

GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION:
The site is located in the Copper River Meridian, Township 20 North, Range 8 East, Section 23, at the following coordinates: 63.50265°North Latitude, 143.83157° West Longitude.  Access is via Alaska Highway Milepost 1347.75, north of Tok.

REQUESTED ACTIVITY:
United States Army Corps of Engineers has submitted an application to the Division of Mining, Lands, & Water (DMLW) for a 5-year Land Use Permit requesting authorization for the use of heavy equipment to collect soil samples and delineate the extent of known contamination associated with the United States Air Force operation of the Haines-Fairbanks Pipeline.

PROPOSED DATES OF USE:
Start: 04/01/2017
End: 11/30/2021

DEADLINE FOR COMMENTS:
December 24 2016

The public is invited to comment on the proposed activity. To ensure consideration, written comments must be received by the Division of Mining, Land and Water at 3700 Airport Way, Fairbanks, Alaska 99709 on or before 5:00 p.m. on the date noted above. After review and adjudication, we may issue a permit with stipulations for the activity.  The activity may be modified during the review and adjudication process.
