Notice of Utility Tariff Filing

The REGULATORY COMMISSION OF ALASKA (Commission) gives notice that ACS of the Northland, LLC d/b/a Alaska Communications Systems, Alaska Communications, ACS Local Service, and ACS (ACS-N) filed TA188-359, seeking to revise its rules regarding Basic Exchange Telecommunications Radio Service (BETRS).

With TA188-359, ACS-N proposes to add language clarifying that conditions such as terrain, foliage, and geographic conditions may prevent an acceptable signal. In addition, ACS-N proposes that the unavailability of replacement parts due to manufacturer discontinuance may prevent restoral of service. Finally, ACS-N proposes that BETRS will no longer be available for new customers and if the service is discontinued by a customer, including seasonal discontinuance or non-payment, the service will not be restored.

The Commission may approve a rate or classification which varies from those proposed.
