BACKGROUND
On January 14, 2015, the Citizens' Advisory Commission on Federal Areas (CACFA) passed a resolution under its authority at AS 41.37.230 establishing the Alaska State Lands Advisory Group (ASLAG). Among other things, ASLAG has been tasked with understanding, discussing and advising on the viability of and potential for transferring the ownership and/or management of federal public lands in Alaska to the State of Alaska. The group is strictly advisory to CACFA and will not make decisions or set policy for the State.
MEETING INFORMATION
ASLAG will be meeting on Thursday, October 27, from 9a.m. to 4p.m. to discuss its draft report to CACFA. A draft meeting agenda is attached to this notice. For information on the group and its report, please contact CACFA Executive Director Sara Taylor at (907) 269-3645. Meeting minutes will be posted to the CACFA website at http://dnr.alaska.gov/commis/cacfa following the meeting.
