Subject to AS 38.05.850, the Southeast Regional Land Office has received an application for the following:

APPLICANT: Mathew Cole

PROJECT NAME: LAS 30914

GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION: Cedar Cove, Freshwater Bay, Chichigof Island, approximately 8 miles Northeast of Tenakee Springs.

LEGAL DESCRIPTION: SE ¼ SE ¼ Sec. 21, T. 46 S., R. 64 E., CRM 

REQUESTED ACTIVITY: Mathew Cole has submitted an application to the Division of Mining Land and Water (DMLW) for a 5-year Land Use Permit requesting authorization for year-round anchorage of a personal-use floathome on state-owned tide and submerged lands in Cedar Cove. Two floating docks (60’ x 8’) are attached to the main float (24’ x 60’), which holds a cabin and a workshop/woodshed. These are anchored with 1 anchor to the submerged lands.

PROPOSED DATES OF USE: Start: October 1, 2016         End: April 30, 2021 

DEADLINE FOR COMMENTS: September 6, 2016

The public is invited to comment on the proposed activity. To ensure consideration, written comments must be received by the Division of Mining, Land and Water at 400 Willoughby Avenue/PO Box 111020, Juneau, AK 99811-1020 on or before 5:00 p.m. on the date noted above. After review and adjudication, we may issue a permit with stipulations for the activity. The activity may be modified during the review and adjudication process.
