BACKGROUND
On January 14, 2015, the Citizens' Advisory Commission on Federal Areas (CACFA) passed a resolution under its authority at Alaska Statute 41.37.230 establishing the Alaska State Lands Advisory Group (ASLAG). Among other things, ASLAG has been tasked with understanding, discussing and advising on the viability of and potential for transferring the ownership and/or management of federal public lands in Alaska to the State of Alaska. The group is strictly advisory to CACFA and will not make decisions or set policy for the State.
MEETING INFORMATION
ASLAG will be meeting via teleconference on August 8 from 10am to 1pm. The membership will be discussing a draft report on its activities and recommendations. Meeting minutes will be posted to the CACFA website at http://dnr.alaska.gov/commis/cacfa/alaskastatelands.htm following the meeting.
REMOTE PARTICIPATION
The meeting will be “listen-only” with a 30-minute opportunity for public participation at 12:30pm. Call-in information is noted above. Written comments may be submitted at any time; any comments received will become part of the record and subject to inspection. All comments received in advance of the meeting will be provided to ASLAG members as part of their individual meeting packets.
