Statement of Intent to Recognize an “Appropriate Village Entity”
for Sleetmute, Alaska
Under the Municipal Lands Trustee Program
Notice is hereby given that the undersigned has found the Petition for Recognition as the “Appropriate Village Entity” submitted by the Sleetmute Traditional Council to be acceptable under 3 AAC 190.140(c) and .910 of the Municipal Land Trust Regulations.
No adverse written comments were received nor were other petitions filed pursuant to a notice dated April 12, 2016 which was published on April 18, 2016 in the State of Alaska Online Public Notice, on April 20, 2016 in the Delta Discovery, and posted in Sleetmute at the community center, post office, and Hill’s Enterprises on April 25, 2016. The undersigned hereby states her intent to recognize the Sleetmute Traditional Council as the appropriate village entity, under AS 44.33.755 and 3 AAC 190.110 et seq., to represent the residents of Sleetmute in decisions affecting the municipal trust land for Sleetmute, administered by the State of Alaska, Department of Commerce, Community, and Economic Development.
This recognition will take effect, without further notice, thirty (30) days following the date this notice is posted or thirty (30) days following the last date of publication, whichever is later, unless adverse written comments are received within that period. It will remain in effect thereafter unless and until rescinded in accordance with 3 AAC 190.150.
