Notice of Utility Tariff Filing
The REGULATORY COMMISSION OF ALASKA (Commission) gives notice that Chugach Electric Association, Inc. (Chugach) filed a tariff revision designated as TA422-8, proposing an interim and refundable gas transfer price (GTP) of $5.88/Mcf for natural gas from the Beluga River Unit (BRU) gas field. Chugach recently acquired 30 percent of ConocoPhillips Alaska, Inc.’s interest in the BRU (see Docket U-16-012 for additional details regarding the acquisition). The proposed GTP is based on the estimated levelized production cost for Chugach of $6.25/Mcf, reduced to $5.88/Mcf to account for the small producer tax credit Chugach may be able to claim pursuant to AS 43.55.024. Chugach states the proposed GTP will not apply to the existing base contract between ConocoPhillips and Chugach, and the gas supply agreement between ConocoPhillips and Alaska Pipeline Company, both of which were assigned as part of the acquisition.
