Notice of Availability for Review Knik Goose Bay Road Reconstruction Environmental Assessment & Public Hearing Open House

WHEN: Tuesday, August 4, 2015, 4:30PM – 8:00PM

 

LOCATION: Central Region, Wasilla Area Senior Center 1301 S. Century Circle, Wasilla, AK

 

BODY: The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) invites you to attend a Public Hearing Open House to provide comment on the Environmental Assessment (EA) for the proposed Knik-Goose Bay Road Reconstruction project from Centaur Avenue to Vine Road.  Team members will be available to discuss the EA, alternatives evaluated, answer your questions and accept your comments on the proposed project.

This project will reconstruct Knik-Goose Bay Road from Centaur Avenue to Vine Road.  The Proposed Action consists of expanding the corridor to a 6-Lane divided roadway from Palmer-Wasilla Hwy to Mack Road with a raised median, outside curb and gutter, and pathway on the north side; expand the corridor to a 4-Lane divided roadway from Mack Road to Vine Road with a depressed grass median with eight-foot outside shoulders and a separated pathway on the north side.  Intersections will be upgraded and will be spaced at quarter-mile to one-half mile intervals.  No additional signals are proposed as part of this project.

Valley Way, Palmer, AK 99645, DOT&PF Central Region Headquarters at 4111 Aviation Drive, Anchorage, AK 99502, and online at www.knikgoosebayroad.com.  Those wishing to submit comments may do so at the Public Hearing or send them to:

To become part of the official EA comments, written comments must be received by 5:00 p.m. on August 20th, 2015.  A court reporter will be available at the Public Hearing to provide an opportunity to make verbal comments about the project.
