Notice of Utility Tariff Filings
The REGULATORY COMMISSION OF ALASKA (Commission) hereby gives notice that non-pooling local exchange carriers Arctic Slope Telephone Cooperative Association (ASTAC), Copper Valley Telephone Cooperative, Inc. (CVTC), Ketchikan Public Utilities (KPU), Cordova Telephone Cooperative, Inc. (CTC), Interior Telephone Company (ITC), Mukluk Telephone Company (MUKLUK), and Matanuska Telephone Association, Inc. (MTA) have filed tariff revisions (collectively "the filings") as shown in the table below.
The filings were submitted in compliance with regulations adopted in Dockets R-08-003/R-09-003 that increased the Network Access Fee (NAF) and implemented a Carrier of Last Resort (COLR) support mechanism. The current filings increase the NAF from $5.25 per month to $5.75 per month. The NAF affects all end users that subscribe to local exchange telephone service.
The filings include proposed COLR support amounts. The monthly COLR support amounts are intended to help carriers meet their Carrier Common Line revenue requirements and will be paid through the Alaska Universal Service Fund. The following table displays each carrier's requested COLR support amounts, calculated in accordance with 3 AAC 53.345(e).
