Notice of Utility Tariff Filing

The REGULATORY COMMISSION OF ALASKA (Commission) gives notice that Alaska Pacific Environmental Services Denali, LLC d/b/a Pacific Waste (APES-Denali) filed tariff revision TA29-502, proposing to clarify, modify, or correct certain definitions and rules in its tariff. Some examples of the proposed tariff revisions are listed below:

  • Deposit provisions at Rule 200.20.3 have been revised from requiring the utility to refund a deposit after one year to requiring a refund after twelve consecutive months of timely payments.
  • A new provision, Rule 200.20.4 requiring an advance payment for customers that due to non-payment had prior service cancelled.
  • A new provision, Rule 200.30.1 requiring that the service provided to the customer is exclusive and may not be used by another.
  • A new provision, Rule 200.30.4 requiring service in excess of the requested service or bulky material collection will be picked up at an extra charge to the customer.
  • A new provision allowing APES-Denali to render make-up bills within six months of service has been introduced as Rule 200.50.17.
  • A new provision, Rule 200.50.18 specifying that it is the customer’s responsibility to verify the utility billing, and that charges are binding unless objected to within six months of billing.
  • A new provision, Rule 200.70.1 governing Customer Provided Equipment (CPE), has been added governing the responsibilities for both the customer and the utility.
  • The provision related to Termination of Service by the Utility (See Rule 200.140.1) was modified to add four additional grounds for termination: (1) access to customer property denied to the utility; (2) disposal of prohibited materials; (3) failure on the part of the customer to observe the rules and regulations of the company; and (4) the use of profane or obscene language, reasonably to be expected to frighten, abuse, torment or harass utility personnel.

This notice does not contain all requested revisions and the Commission may approve a rate or classification which varies from that proposed.
