LAS 30135
SAExploration, Inc.
Subject to AS 38.05.850, the Northern Regional Land Office is considering the issuance of a Land Use Permit (LAS 30135) to SAExploration, Inc. (SAE). The applicant has requested a Land Use Permit (LAS 30135) for the purpose of authorizing the temporary storage of facilities and materials on gravel pads and ice pads to support oil exploration and development activities on state land of the North Slope.
The current request is for the storage of a seismic survey camp on up to 8.0 acres of the Franklin Bluffs gravel pad, located within sections 4 & 9, 4N 14E, UM. All stored fuel and hydrocarbons will have 110% secondary containment. Burnable solid waste is proposed to be incinerated on site. Wastewater will be stored and back-hauled to Deadhorse for disposal. Access is to the site is via existing road system.
The DNR DMLW Lands Section believes that this is consistent with Department of Natural Resources standards and proposes to authorize the temporary storage of facilities and materials on authorized gravel pads and ice pads located on state land within the Umiat Meridian and between the Colville and Canning Rivers for a 5-year period under LAS 30135. Each individual storage event would require specific authorization from the DNR DMLW NRO prior to conducting the storage activity.
The Land Use Permit application and associated documents are attached for further details.
