Arctic Health East Passenger Elevator Modernization

Invitation for Bids Number 0762015   Project Number D15100 AHEE

Sealed bids, in single copy, for the Arctic Health East Passenger Elevator Modernization project will be received by the University of Alaska, Office of Division of Design and Construction until Tuesday, 2:00 p.m., April 21, 2015,at the Office of Division of Design and Construction, 590 University Avenue, 2nd Floor, Fairbanks, Alaska, at which time bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.

The Work consists of: elevator modernization with replacement of controller, drive motor and cab interior and seismic and ADA improvements.  Work includes installation of a new sump pump and piping in the existing elevator shaft and miscellaneous electrical items.

Bidders are advised that the University of Alaska has a procedure for accepting alternate products or systems prior to bid opening.  Acceptance of substitutions after award is limited.  See Instructions to Bidders and the General Conditions.

Printed copies may be ordered from reprographic companies through the website or by contacting a reprographer directly.  The downloaded files may also be printed on the plan holder’s equipment.  Plan holders are responsible for their own reproduction costs.

A pre-bid conference will be held on Tuesday April 7, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. at the Office of Division of Design and Construction, University of Alaska, 590 University Avenue, 2nd Floor, Fairbanks, Alaska.

Bid security is required to be submitted with each bid in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. State law requires a bid to be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible "Alaska Bidder" after a five percent (5%) preference and Alaska Products Preference have been applied.  Further instructions are contained within the Invitation for Bids.

The University of Alaska reserves the right to reject any or all bids, offers, or parts thereof it deems necessary, to waive any informality in the bid or offer received, and to award in the best interest of the University.
