An application for a new oil discharge prevention and contingency plan (plan), under Alaska Statute 46.04.030 and in accordance with 18 AAC 75, has been received by the Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation (department).

Plan Title:  Petro Marine Services Marine Vessel Oil Discharge Prevention and Contingency Plan

Proposed Activity: The applicant will transport petroleum products within State waters

Maximum Cargo Capacity: 120,000 barrels

Supporting Documents: SEAPRO Technical Manual

Potential Results: A potential risk exists of oil spills from vessels entering waters of the State as a result of this operation.

Requests for additional information must be submitted by 5:00 P.M. April 21, 2015.  Comments will be accepted until 5:00 P.M. April 27, 2015.  It is the responsibility of the commenter to verify e-mail submissions are received by the applicable deadline.  The public comment period will be extended if necessary in accordance with 18 AAC 75.455(d) & (e).

If determined necessary by public comments received, the department will announce and hold public hearing(s) on the above referenced plan.  Residents in the affected areas or the governing body of an affected municipality may request a public hearing by writing to the department of Environmental Conservation, at the above address, within 30 days of publication of this notice.
