Notice of Proposed Changes in the Regulations of the Board of Marital and Family Therapy
Brief Description: The Board of Marital and Family Therapy proposes to update various regulations addressing application, licensure requirements, supervised practice, continuing education requirements, approved continuing education activities, definitions, and to establish continuing education course approval requirements.
The Board of Marital and Family Therapy (Board) proposes to adopt regulation changes in Title 12, Chapter 19 of the Alaska Administrative Code, dealing with licensure by examination, licensure by credentials, license for supervised practice, continuing education requirements, approved continuing education activities, course approval, and definitions, including the following: - 12 AAC 19.110, License by examination, is proposed to be changed to alter the license by examination requirements to practice marital and family therapy.
- 12 AAC 19.115, Licensure by credentials, is proposed to be changed to alter the licensure by credentials requirements to practice marital and family therapy.
- 12 AAC 19.200, License for supervised practice, is proposed to be changed to alter the license requirements for supervised practice of marital and family therapy.
- 12 AAC 19.310, Continuing education requirements, is proposed to be changed to alter the continuing education requirements for renewal of a marital and family therapy license.
- 12 AAC 19.320, Approved continuing education activities, is proposed to be changed to alter the continuing education activities approved by the board.
- 12 AAC 19.350, Application for continuing education course approval, is a proposed new section that establishes continuing education course approval requirements.
- 12 AAC 19.990, Definitions, is proposed to further define terms used in AS 08.63 and 12 AAC 19.

The comments must be received no later than 4:30 p.m. on April 6, 2015.

The Board may, but is not required to, answer written questions received after the 10-day cut-off date and before the end of the comment period.

After the public comment period ends, the Board will either adopt these or other provisions dealing with the same subject, without further notice, or decide to take no action on them.
