Notice of Utility Tariff Filing

 The REGULATORY COMMISSION OF ALASKA (Commission) gives notice that Chugach Electric Association, Inc. (Chugach) has filed a tariff revision (TA397-8) requesting tariff rate and rule changes.  In support of TA397-8 Chugach included prefiled direct testimony, a revenue requirement study, and a cost of service study. Below is a sample of the current interim and proposed tariff rates:

Chugach has also requested rate increases for streetlights, outdoor area lighting, transmission service and ancillary services T-1, T-2, T-3, T-5, and T-6. 

Chugach has requested an effective date of April 1, 2015, for the rates and rule changes proposed in TA397-8, with the exception of transmission and ancillary services rates and rates for Seward Electric System, for which the effective date proposed is May 1, 2015. 

Chugach also proposes the following revisions: 

Expansion of the definition of eligible customer on Tariff Sheet 122, to include any entity exempt from regulation under Alaska Statute 42.05.711(r). 

Removal of the State of Alaska gross revenue tax of about $600,000 from base energy rates. Chugach is requesting approval to create a line item on the customer bill for this charge. If approved, Chugach states it will modify and submit to the Commission revised billing forms, with a line item on the billed titled, “Gross Revenue Tax”.
