The Alaska Native Language Preservation and Advisory Council
will hold a teleconference meeting on

The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the council’s report of its findings and recommendations due to the Governor and Legislature on or before July 1, 2014.

Background:
In April 2012, the Alaska Legislature passed Senate Bill 130 authorizing the formation of the Alaska Native Language Preservation and Advisory Council. In May 2012, Governor Sean Parnell signed the bill into law.

The purpose of the Alaska Native Language Preservation and Advisory Council is to provide recommendations and advice to both the Governor and Legislature on programs, policies, and projects; and to network and advocate in support of the Council’s mission.
