Notice of DNR Permit Application - LAS 30873 - Alaska Rainbow Lodge, Kvichak River Dock

NOTICE TO THE PUBLIC AND REQUEST FOR INFORMATION
LAS 30873
ALASKA RAINBOW LODGE

Subject to AS 38.05.850, the Southcentral Regional Land Office has received an application for the following:

APPLICANT: Alaska Rainbow Lodge

PROJECT NAME: LAS 30873

GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION: Located in southwestern Alaska within the Kvichak River at the Alaska Rainbow Lodge, approximately 12 miles northeast of Levelock.

LEGAL DESCRIPTION: Kvichak dock: SW1/4NE1/4 of Section 19, Township 11 South, Range 43 West, Seward Meridian

REQUESTED ACTIVITY: Applicant Alaska Rainbow Lodge is requesting a permit for a seasonal floating dock within the Kvichak River to be used in support of commercial lodge operations. The dock is secured by two cables and two stiff arms, has a 120-feet by 6-feet T-shaped extension attached to a raised ramp, and is in place between late May and early October. No fuel would be stored on the dock or on state-owned submerged lands. If approved, the dock will be added to Alaska Rainbow Lodge's existing permit (LAS 30873) which currently authorizes a similar dock within the Naknek River.

Start: May 1, 2021
End: April 30, 2026

DEADLINE FOR COMMENTS: April 27, 2021

The public is invited to comment on this activity. The purpose of this notice is to gather input before a decision is made on this activity. To ensure consideration, written comments must be received by the Division of Mining, Land and Water at the Southcentral Regional Land Office, 550 W. 7th Ave., Suite 900C, Anchorage, AK 99501-3577 on or before 5:00 PM on the date noted above. After review and adjudication, we may issue an authorization with stipulations for the activity. The activity may be modified during the review and adjudication process.
