SEASONAL WEIGHT RESTRICTIONS
Issue Date: April 22, 2020
Weight restrictions are stated as a percentage of legal allowable weight and shall be applied to the maximum axle loading of 17 AAC 25.013(e).
The following road systems are included within the Southcoast Region: Angoon, Gustavus, Haines, Hoonah, Iliamna, Juneau, Kake, Ketchikan, King Salmon, Klawock, Kodiak, Petersburg, Sitka, Skagway, Wrangell, and Yakutat areas.
Location: Iliamna; Kodiak; King Salmon; Naknek; Yakutat
Effective Thursday April 23, 2020 at 8:00 A.M. The following State maintained roads are restricted to the following:
AREA WIDE WEIGHT RESTRICTIONS
Iliamna: All State maintained roads are restricted to 50% of legal axle load.
Naknek: All State maintained roads are restricted to 75% of legal axle load.
King Salmon: All State maintained roads are restricted to 75% of legal axle load.
INDIVIDUAL ROAD WEIGHT RESTRICTIONS – Individual roads that vary from the Area Wide Weight Restrictions:
Yakutat Locations: The following roads are restricted to 75% of legal axle load;
Airport Road
Dangerous River Road
Kodiak Locations: The following roads are restricted to 75% of legal axle load;
Rezanof Drive
Monashka Bay
Pasagshak
Chiniak Hwy Mile 0-21.13
Kodiak locations: The following roads are restricted to 50% of legal axle load;
Chiniak Hwy Mile 21.13 – 31.89

Additional restrictions and modifications will be imposed as necessary.
Authorized Weight restrictions will only be posted on the DOT&PF Division of Measurement and Standards and Commercial Vehicle Enforcement (MSCVE) webpage. Weight Restrictions posted on 511 or any other posting are for information only. The most recent published public notice will supersede any conflicting information from other sources. Public Notices can be found at: http://www.dot.alaska.gov/mscve/index.cfm click the “Commercial Vehicle Enforcement tab” then click on “Weight Restrictions” go to the middle of the page and click on “Central Region”, then open the most recent Southcoast Region listing.
The Department of Public Safety and the DOT/PF Division of Measurement and Standards and Commercial Vehicle Enforcement will be enforcing these restrictions.
