CONSTRUCTION INVITATION TO BIDS (ITB’s)

Sealed bids in single copy for furnishing all labor, materials, and equipment, and performing all work on Project No. 00S896/SAMHS00088 & 9500139/Z701610000; AMHS Storage Tank Replacement & Wastewater Treatment System Upgrades, described herein, will be received until 2:00 p.m. prevailing time December 17, 2019, at the Construction Contracts Office, 1st Floor, 6860 Glacier Highway, Juneau, Alaska.

This State funded project will consist of:

Project 000S896/ SAMHS00088 AMHS FUEL STRORAGE TANK REPLACEMENT

Project Description:

This project would remove the existing underground fuel storage tank (UST) and install a new above ground storage tank at 8 AMHS Ferry Terminal locations: Auke Bay, Skagway, Sitka, Wrangell, Petersburg, Ketchikan, Cordova, and Valdez. Work includes removal of existing tanks, new concrete slab foundations, furnishing and installing tanks and appurtenances, fuel oil piping, electrical wiring, bollards, concrete sidewalk repairs, concrete curb and gutter repairs, asphalt or concrete patching, pavement striping, and contaminated soil removal when required for a complete operational fuel storage system.

Project 9500139/ Z701610000 AMHS FUEL STRORAGE TANK REPLACEMENT

Project Description:

This project would remove and replace the existing on-site wastewater treatment system at 4 AMHS Terminal locations: Auke Bay, Sitka, Haines, and Skagway. Work includes installing temporary bathroom facilities, removal of the existing underground septic tanks and plumbing, installing new underground septic treatment system tanks and appurtenances, installing new absorption field, relocating a drinking water backflow preventer, sewer piping, electrical wiring, bollards, concrete sidewalk repairs, concrete curb and gutter repairs, asphalt or concrete patching, and pavement striping for a complete operational on-site wastewater treatment system.

The Engineer's Estimate is between $1,000,000 and $2,500,000. All work shall be completed by October 01, 2020. This is a Race Neutral project as defined in Section 120 of the Specifications.

The Invitation to Bid, plans, specifications, bid packets and other bidding documents may now be obtained for bidding purposes at no charge by downloading from the following location: http://www.dot.state.ak.us/apps/contracts?ACTION=bidcal#40556.   If you download the document, even though there is no charge, you must register with the DOT&PF by sending an E-Mail to: srdotpfcontracts@alaska.gov or your bid may not be accepted.  You must send your Company Name, contact name, mailing address, phone and fax numbers, and whether you are registering as a General, Subcontractor, or Supplier.  You may not change or alter the downloaded Bidding Forms in any way.  You must still submit these Bidding Forms by the normal Sealed Bid Procedure using the issued DOT&PF forms given and by the deadline.  Electronic bids will not be accepted.

Fax addenda and Bid Modification sheets will continue to be faxable to us as in the past.  We will also continue our process to fax addenda to all those registered Planholders.  Electronic copies of these documents are also available at the website listed above.

Bidders are highly encouraged to check the website below for information about Addenda prior to opening and Bid Results, Award Status, etc after opening.

Bidding Documents are available for inspection at the office of the Regional Department of Transportation and Public Facilities offices in Anchorage, Fairbanks and Juneau.
