PUBLIC NOTICE
The Alaska Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Division of Mining, Land & Water (DMLW) in cooperation with the Division of Agriculture (DAg), is proposing to hold a sealed-bid auction for state agricultural land under AS 38.05.055 Auction sale or sealed bid procedures and AS 38.05.059 Sale of agriculture land. The sale will include three parcels near Fairbanks and Delta Junction, ranging in size from 49 to 199 acres. A description of the auction procedures and timeline can be found on pages 2 and 16-31 of the Auction #487 brochure which is available at https://dnr.alaska.gov.mlw/landsales/brochure/.
Corporations, businesses, and non-Alaska residents are eligible to bid on parcels of agriculture land in the sealed-bid auction.
Sealed auction bids are accepted September 19, 2019 through October 17. Auction bids will be opened, and apparent winners will be announced, on October 30, beginning at 10:00 a.m. at DNR’ s offices in Anchorage. Attendance at the bid opening will not affect the outcome.
General Over-the-Counter (OTC) sales, which are open to businesses, and both Alaska and non-Alaska residents, will follow the auction beginning on November 13. During the first four weeks of OTC sales, parcels will be priced above the appraised value. DNR will not accept OTC purchase applications by mail. Pursuant to AS 38.05.945 Notice, the public is invited to submit comment on the proposed procedures and timeline for sealed-bid auction #487. The deadline for public comment is 5:00PM, Thursday, September 19, 2019. Only persons from whom DNR DAg receives timely, written comment during the identified comment period will be eligible to file an appeal. Written comment may be received by fax, email or postal mail. Submit comments by fax to fax # 907-269-8916, by email to landsales@alaska.gov with the subject line, “ATTN: Auction #487 Procedures”, or by mail to DNR Land Sales, 550 W. 7th Avenue, Suite 640, Anchorage, AK 99501.
If no significant change is required, a summary of comments and responses will be issued if any comments are received, and the Auction #487 and OTC offerings will proceed as scheduled without further notice.
DNR reserves the right to waive technical defects in this notice.
